1 Corinthians 6:9-10 ESV /

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

1 Corinthians 6:14-20 ESV /

The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, & the Lord for the body. And God raised the Lord & will also raise us up by his power. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ & make them members of a prostitute? Never! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, “The two will become one flesh.” But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him.

1 Corinthians 6:18 ESV /

Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.

1 Corinthians 7:2-5 ESV /

Because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife & each woman her own husband.  The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, & likewise the wife to her husband.  For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does.  Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.  Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

1 Corinthians 7:10-11 ESV /

To the married I give this charge (not I, but the Lord): the wife should not separate from her husband (but if she does, she should remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband), & the husband should not divorce his wife.

1 Corinthians 10:8a,13 ESV /

We must not indulge in sexual immorality as some of them did… No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, & he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

1 Corinthians 13:1-8a, 11-13 NIV /

If I speak in the tongues of men & of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy & can fathom all mysteries & all knowledge, & if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor & surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope & love. But the greatest of these is love.

1 John 4:18 ESV /

There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, & whoever fears has not been perfected in love.

1 Peter 2:11 ESV /

Beloved, I urge you as sojourners & exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.

1 Peter 3:1-8 NIV /
Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity & reverence of your lives. Your beauty should not come from outward adornment…Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle & quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves. They submitted themselves to their own husbands, like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham & called him her lord. You are her daughters if you do what is right & do not give way to fear. Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, & treat them with respect as the weaker partner & as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers. Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate & humble.

1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 ESV /

For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God;

2 Corinthians 6:14 ESV /

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?

2 Timothy 2:22 ESV /

So flee youthful passions & pursue righteousness, faith, love, & peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

Acts 15:20a ESV /

But should write to them to abstain from the things polluted by idols, & from sexual immorality,

Colossians 3:5 ESV /
Put to death therefore what is earthly to you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, & covetousness, which is idolatry.
Colossians 3:18-19 NIV /
Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, for that is what you should do as Christians. Husbands, love your wives & do not be harsh with them.

Ephesians 5:3 ESV /

But sexual immorality & all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints.

Ephesians 5:22-33 NIV /
Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands as to the Lord. For a husband has authority over his wife just as Christ has authority over the church; & Christ is himself the Savior of the church, his body. And so wives must submit themselves completely to their husbands just as the church submits itself to Christ. Husbands, love your wives just as Christ loved the church & gave his life for it. He did this to dedicate the church to God by his word, after making it clean by washing it in water, in order to present the church to himself in all its beauty - pure & faultless, without spot or wrinkle or any other imperfection. Men ought to love their wives just as they love their own bodies. A man who loves his wife loves himself. (None of us ever hate our own bodies. Instead, we feed them, & take care of them, just as Christ does the church; for we are members of his body.) As the scripture says, "For this reason a man will leave his father & mother & unite with his wife, & the two will become one." There is a deep secret truth revealed in this scripture, which I understand as applying to Christ & the church. But it also applies to you: every husband must love his wife as himself, & every wife must respect her husband.
Exodus 20:14 ESV /
“You shall not commit adultery.”
Galatians 5:13,16-17 NIV /
You, my brothers & sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. So I say, walk by the Spirit, & you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, & the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.
Galatians 5:19 ESV /
Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, & things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Galatians 5:22-23 NIV /
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness & self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Genesis 2:24 ESV /

Therefore a man shall leave his father & his mother & hold fast to his wife, & they shall become one flesh.

Hebrews 10:38 NIV /
But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him.’
Hebrews 11:1 NIV /
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for & the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 13:4 ESV /
Let marriage be held in honor among all, & let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral & adulterous.

James 1:12, 14-16 Good News Translation /

Happy are those who remain faithful under trials, because when they succeed in passing such a test, they will receive as their reward the life which God has promised to those who love him.  We are tempted when we are drawn away & trapped by our own evil desires. Then our evil desires conceive & give birth to sin; & sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. Do not be deceived, my dear friends!

Jeremiah 17:5 ESV /

Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man & makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord.”

Jeremiah 23:14 ESV /

“But in the prophets of Jerusalem I have seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery & walk in lies; they strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one turns from his evil; all of them have become like Sodom to me, & its inhabitants like Gomorrah.”

John 8:34 ESV /

Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin.”

John 14:15 ESV /

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”

Jude 1:7 ESV /

Just as Sodom & Gomorrah & the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality & pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.

Leviticus 18:22 ESV /

You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.

Leviticus 20:13 ESV /

If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.

Luke 16:10 ESV /

One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, & one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.

Malachi 2:13-14 AMP /
And this you do with double guilt; you cover the altar of the Lord with tears [shed by your unoffending wives, divorced by you that you might take heathen wives], & with [your own] weeping & crying out because the Lord does not regard your offering any more or accept it with favor at your hand. Yet you ask, Why does He reject it? Because the Lord was witness [to the covenant made at your marriage] between you & the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously & to whom you were faithless. Yet she is your companion & the wife of your covenant [made by your marriage vows].
Malachi 2:15-16 NKJV /
But did He not make them one, having a remnant of the Spirit? And why one? He seeks godly offspring. Therefore take heed to your spirit, & let none deal treacherously with the wife of his youth. ‘For the LORD God of Israel says That He hates divorce, for it covers one’s garment with violence,’ says the LORD of hosts. ‘Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.’

Mark 7:20-23 ESV /

And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, & they defile a person.”

Mark 10:6-9 NIV /
“But in the beginning, at the time of creation, ‘God made them male & female,' as the scripture says. ‘And for this reason a man will leave his father & mother & unite with his wife, & the two will become one.' So they are no longer two, but one.  No human being must separate, then, what God has joined together."

Matthew 5:27-28 ESV /

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. “

Matthew 15:19-20 ESV /

For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person.

Matthew 19:4-6 NIV /
And He answered & said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male & female,’ & said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father & mother & be joined to his wife, & the two shall become one flesh’? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.

Proverbs 2:16-22 ESV /

So you will be delivered from the forbidden woman, from the adulteress with her smooth words, who forsakes the companion of her youth & forgets the covenant of her God; for her house sinks down to death, & her paths to the departed; none who go to her come back, nor do they regain the paths of life. So you will walk in the way of the good & keep to the paths of the righteous.

Proverbs 3:3 ESV /

Let not steadfast love & faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart.

Proverbs 5:1-4,6-9,15-23 NIV /
My son, pay attention to my wisdom, turn your ear to my words of insight, that you may maintain discretion & your lips may preserve knowledge. For the lips of the adulterous woman drip honey, & her speech is smoother than oil; but in the end she is bitter as gall, sharp as a double-edged sword. She gives no thought to the way of life; her paths wander aimlessly, but she does not know it. Now then, my sons, listen to me; do not turn aside from what I say. Keep to a path far from her, do not go near the door of her house, lest you lose your honor to others & your dignity to one who is cruel. Drink water from your own cistern, running water from your own well. Should your springs overflow in the streets, your streams of water in the public squares? Let them be yours alone, never to be shared with strangers. May your fountain be blessed, & may you rejoice in the wife of your youth. A loving doe, a graceful deer—may her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be intoxicated with her love. Why, my son, be intoxicated with another man’s wife? Why embrace the bosom of a wayward woman? For your ways are in full view of the Lord, & he examines all your paths. The evil deeds of the wicked ensnare them; the cords of their sins hold them fast. For lack of discipline they will die, led astray by their own great folly.

Proverbs 6:24-26 ESV /

To preserve you from the evil woman, from the smooth tongue of the adulteress:  Do not desire her beauty in your heart, & do not let her capture you with her eyelashes; for the price of a prostitute is only a loaf of bread, but a married woman hunts down a precious life.

Proverbs 6:34-35 ESV /

For jealousy makes a man furious, & he will not spare when he takes revenge. He will accept no compensation; he will refuse though you multiply gifts.

Proverbs 7:4-5 ESV /

Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” & call insight your intimate friend, to keep you from the forbidden woman, from the adulteress with her smooth words.

Proverbs 12:4 NIV /
A good wife is her husband’s pride & joy; but a wife who brings shame on her husband is like a cancer in his bones.

Proverbs 12:19-20 ESV /

Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment. Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but those who plan peace have joy.

Proverbs 18:22 NIV /
Find a wife & you find a good thing; it shows that the Lord is good to you.
Proverbs 19:14 NIV /
A man can inherit a house & money from his parents, but only the Lord can give him a sensible wife.
Proverbs 20:7 NIV /
Children are fortunate if they have a father who is honest & does what is right.
Proverbs 28:20a ESV /
A faithful man will abound with blessings.
Proverbs 31:10 NIV /
How hard it is to find a capable wife!  She is worth far more than jewels!

Psalm 85:10 ESV /

Steadfast love & faithfulness meet; righteousness & peace kiss each other.

Revelation 21:8 ESV /

“But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, & all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire & sulfur, which is the second death.”

Revelation 22:15 ESV /

Outside are the dogs & sorcerers & the sexually immoral & murderers & idolaters, & everyone who loves & practices falsehood.

Romans 1:25-28 ESV /

Because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie & worshiped & served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; & the men likewise gave up natural relations with women & were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men & receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.

Romans 8:1-13:14 ESV /

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin & death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh & for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.

Romans 13:13-14 ESV /
Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies & drunkenness, not in sexual immorality & sensuality, not in quarreling & jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, & make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.
